Hello! As we draw nearer to Christmas, I find myself more and more busy and distracted by other things. No wonder the kids are distracted, too! However, we have managed to continue with our schoolwork and will charge full force through Week 16 of Creation to the Greeks before taking a break for Christmas! We covered our assignments in other subjects, but this week's Bible history activity is the big highlight of our week.
In Week 15 of
Creation to the Greeks we made a model of the Tabernacle from the Old Testament.
My Father's World has made this project much easier for us than it could have been by giving us the plans and pieces to cut out for some of the more detailed parts of this model in our set of student sheets. We chose to only make one model and we all worked on it together. The children were so happy to show their Daddy when it was ready! I think this project really brought the subject "to life". We will remember the Tabernacle because we made our own model. We really do learn by doing and I think we all learned a lot about the Tabernacle through doing this project.

Inside the Tabernacle: Most Holy Place is on the right with the Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Place is on the left with the Golden Lampstand, Altar of Incense, and the Table for the Showbread |
 |
Outside of the Holy Place and Most Holy Place is the Bronze Basin and to the far left is the Altar for Burnt Offerings. We used layers of colored tissue paper for the "material" to cover the roof. |
What a fun project! It really would bring it to life. Found you on the homeschool hop!:)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had fun with that project! Stopping by from the Hip Homeschool Hop!
ReplyDeleteYour tabernacle looks great! After viewing some others, I realize things we could have done differently. But it's all similar and we all learned from the hands-on experience. :)
